Erin Brockovich- Activism vs. Pollution

Erin Brockovich speaking today at Revolution Hall.

Portland, Oregon – Erin Brockovich gave a speech in Portland Saturday, talking about holding people accountable for toxic chemicals found in the soil and air in Southeast Portland. The Eastside Portland Air Coalition held the free event Saturday at Revolution Hall. Brockovich was there to talk about the power of citizen activism.

In 1993, Erin Brockovich famously won a legal battle against PG&E for contaminating groundwater with hexavalent chromium, the same toxin found near glass-making companies in Portland. That case later became the basis for the famous movie about Brockovich, starring Julia Roberts.
