Nine people were killed and 39 others injured when a charter bus slipped on ice on Interstate 84 east of Pendleton, crashed through a guardrail and rolled down an embankment around 10:30 Sunday morning.  It's estimated that the bus flew around 200'.

The driver survived, but the severity of his injuries has kept him from speaking to investigators.

The bus from Mi Joo Tour & Travel of Vancouver, British Columbia was on a return trip from Las Vegas, Nevada.  Some of the passengers were South Korea exchange students.

Two federal investigators are at the crash site looking for any clues.

The bus crash was the second fatality on the icy conditions of Interstate 84 on Sunday.  A 69-year-old man died in a roll-over accident about four hours earlier near Stanfield.
