Diehards Wait In Line For The iPhone 5

Waiting for the doors to open at Pioneer Place

Even Spiderman wanted the new iPhone

Fans started lining up outside Pioneer Place in downtown Portland early Thursday afternoon waiting to be among the first to buy Apple's new
iPhone 5. Some people really got into the spirit of things. Two friends both wore Spiderman costumes.
Not everyone was excited about Apple's next new thing. A homeless person walking by yelled at those in line for spending a couple hundred bucks on a phone, but not even giving him a single dollar so he could get something to eat.
As with almost any iPhone launch, the fifth iteration has its share of critics. Apple made a big deal of dumping Google maps in their newest version in favor of a homemade variety with help from GPS maker TomTom. The tech universe exploded on Wednesday when the new OS rolled out to older phones with many decrying the new maps as "half baked and broken". The problems inspired a
blog.
Apple has responded to the criticism, saying they're working overtime to fix the problems, including locking the team responsible for the maps in a room to knuckle down until it's done.
