NFL Referees Are Back

The NFL has finally woken up from its three month long nightmare. After two days of negotiations since the Monday Night Football debacle in Seattle, Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the two sides have reached an agreement. Goodell said in a statement released by the league "The long-term future of our game requires that we seek improvement in every area, including officiating. This agreement supports long-term reforms that will make officiating better. The teams, players and fans want and deserve both consistency and quality in officiating." Commissioner Goodell even went so far to temporarily lift the lockout so the refs can be on the field for tomorrows Thursday Night Football game between the Browns and Ravens. The agreement couldn't come soon enough and is an eight year deal. The longest such contract between the NFL and the officials in league history. "Now it's time to put the focus back on the teams and players where it belongs."
