It's a startling statistic. One in four people have suffered a physical assault from a current or former partner.
On October 16th thirty deputies were out with a single mission, serve 120 warrants. Police want to show that domestic violence will not be tolerated in the community.
"Whether its a misdemeanor or felony assault I think the concern is always there that those kind of things can escalate", says Sergeant Alex Schoening.
Deputies say suspects in domestic violence cases are from all socioeconomic background and may not be someone who you expect.
The sweep is in coordination with others across the country for Domestic Violence awareness month.
