The historic Thunderbird Hotel in Jantzen Beach burned to the ground last weekend. It has been a spectacle ever since.
Portland Fire investigators are getting help from the
ATF. They have completed the first phase of their investigation, but the cause of the fire that caused around $5 million in damage is still unknown.
The vacant building was on the fire department's radar as a potential hazard for years. Taxes on the property haven't been paid since 2008. It was used of late as storage for mattresses and furniture.
