Mayor’s Fiesta Bowl Battle on The Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano was joined by Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy and Manhattan, Kansas Mayor Loren Pepperd. The two mayors spent their time today with John having a friendly debate over which team and city is the better of the two.
Both mayors started off by complimenting the other ones city even though they both had never been to each other’s cities. Mayor Pepperd was very happy to hear that the allotted amount of tickets that were given to the school for the Fiesta Bowl, all 22,000, were sold. Mayor Piercy believes that most of the Ducks fans were hoping to go to the National Championship this year, but she says they are excited for the game and excited to get another win under their belt.
They are very excited for the matchup between the Ducks and K State. Both mayors had come up with the idea of betting on the game and doing something if the other one won. John came up with the idea that whoever lost would have to come back on the show and tell the other how great the other ones city and team is.
In the last segment John decided to bring up the gun control issue. Mayor Pepperd being a republican and growing up in Kentucky is very used to guns being prominent in his state. He however believes that there are still many issues that need to be addressed when it comes to the hands that those guns get into. Mayor Piercy belongs to an organization that keeps guns out of the hands of criminals, children, and the mentally ill. She feels that she is very respectful of people’s rights when it comes to gun control.
