Firefighters Battle Two Blazes In Newberg

Newberg firefighters were kept on their toes this morning, rushing from one fire to another. They didn't have to travel far. The first blaze was at an exotic pet store and another at a news printing company.
Several pets died at the Critter Cabana on Highway 99W. Others were recused and taken to the other location in Wilsonville. The fire seriously damaged the building. The owners plan to rebuild.
The other fire was at SP Newsprint on Wynooski Road. It's the third there in four months.
The calls came as crews were rescuing a victim from a bad car crash that went over an embankment. Agencies in Yamhill, Washington and Marion counties helped out with other calls due to resources being stretched so thin.
