With the college football Bowl season about to kick off, we brought in a good friend and one of the best in the business to shed some knowledge.  George Schroeder from USAtoday joined Chad on Flight 750 Wednesday to break down the big stories in college football.

Schroeder began by discussing the great play of Johnny Manziel this season.

“You hear all the time people say this guy has that special “It” quality…Well, I’ve never a seen a guy who has “It” quite like Johnny Manziel.”

And he didn’t stop there with his acclaim for Johnny Football.

“I don’t think I’ve seen a more entertaining player in college football in quite some time and we’ve seen some good ones.  Cam Newton was a different kind of entertaining player.  Tim Tebow was not really so much entertaining as just effective.  I don’t think I’ve seen a guy who makes these hilarious youtube highlight-type things happen the way Manziel does.”

And finally, he previewed the BCS Championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame.  Schroeder believes this could be one of the best title game matchups we’ve seen in quite some time.

“I look at em and I think given five weeks on the one hand, Nick Saban is going to prepare and stop that offense, but on the other hand I think given five weeks they [Notre Dame] are going to slow down that Alabama power run game too.  And so I think there is a definite chance we can see a humdinger of a football game.”

Take a listen to the interview and be sure and check out Schroeder’s works every week in USAToday.
