Religious Statues Beheaded At The Grotto

Joseph's missing head
December 3, 2012, 3:15 pm
Somebody broke into the grounds of
The Grotto shrine in Northeast Portland and beheaded statues of Baby Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Joseph. Two were recovered, while the other remains missing.
There are no security cameras where those marble statues were. They were made in Italy in the 1940's.
The Grotto is still trying to determine if the statues can be repaired and how much it would cost.
This comes at the busiest time of year for them with the annual Festival of Lights now underway.
There's a $1,000 reward from Crime Stoppers to solve this case.
