Boise-Eliot School rolls out the welcome mat today for students from Humboldt School which closed its doors in June due to district budget cuts. Principal Molly Chun says they are doing a staggered start with students A through K attending classes today and L through Z tomorrow. Then everyone shows up on Friday for a special assembly. Staff and students will all be wearing special t-shirts that read Boise-Eliot Humboldt. Chun says they have been preparing for this day since last spring. They held an open house and BBQ for Humboldt families and have been in touch with them over the summer. Humboldt students will be hopping on the school bus for the first time this week.
