We’re now 12 weeks through the 2012-2013 NFL season, and it appears that the teams that looked like they were the best teams to start out the season still look like they are the best teams in the NFL.  Travis Rodgers from Yahoo! Sports Radio joined Chad on Flight 750 Wednesday to talk about the most popular storylines in the NFL.

On Thanksgiving Day, Ndamukong Suh got himself into more trouble with the NFL when he blatantly kicked Matt Schaub in the groin area.  Rodgers spoke to the history of Suh’s dirty plays since he has been in the league.

“I think there’s a huge difference between playing a violent sport like football and intentionally trying to hurt people.  Ndamukong Suh  plays a violent sport and he tries to hurt people.

Rodgers also talked about the new-look 49ers with Colin Kaepernick behind Center.

“Kaepernick gives them more things that he can do.  Alex Smith is what he is.  I think everyone knows that he’s fairly limited.  He’s not a bum.  He doesn’t stink, but he’s not a guy that can make a lot of things happen on his own…Colin Kaepernick might be that guy.”

Rodgers also talked about Alex Smith’s future with the 49ers.

“As far as his future in San Francisco, I don’t think there is one.  I never really thought that there was a long-term future.  The fact that they went out and courted Peyton Manning…The fact that they only gave him a one-year deal…They were always hedging their bets and looking for something better.”

Take a listen to the interview and be sure to check out his show from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Yahoo! Sports Radio.
