"Weapons" Seized From Occupy Portland

Slabs of concrete and plywood were removed from the Occupy Portland camps last night.  Reports were that campers were making weapons to use in a possible confrontation with police.  They're facing a deadline of midnight Saturday to clear out from the parks.  Officers are on every corner around Chapman and Lownsdale Squares.  Many are wearing medical masks for fear of catching disease. 

At a Friday night meeting, organizers said they have no plans for violence, but many campers have said they are not going anywhere.  There was a third drug overdose Friday night and a fourth this morning.

There have been reports that reinforcements and anarchists are coming in from other cities for support.  'Occupy' is planning several Saturday afternoon marches and a potluck dinner.  Some downtown businesses have locked their doors and posted security guards out front.
