Portland, Oregon - It's going to be a long week for businesses located near a water main that broke at 4th and Burnside Tuesday. The street remains closed and it could be early next week before repaving work is finished and it reopens.
Businesses in the area are hurting. This morning City Commissioners Nick Fish and Steve Novick paid a visit to one of them and hope other Portlanders will do the same.
Warren who runs Blue Collar Baking at SW Third and Pine says he mortgaged his house to make his dream of running a bakery come true. The shop was hard hit by the break. It had four feet of water, lost 30 days worth of supplies and its electrical panel went out. It is operating on a generator until things get back to normal.
The 24 inch pipe that broke early Tuesday was a century old.
