Prosecutors hinted this afternoon without revealing any specifics that Eric Meiser, the man
accused of brutally murdering Fritz Hayes in his Lake Oswego home is right at the center of another murder investigation out of the state. Law enforcement sources told our news partner KGW News Channel 8, that Meiser is the number one suspect for the death 28-year old Nick Fickett in Kelso Washington. Fickett was found stabbed to death along the Cowlitz river in his tent late July. Meanwhile in Clackamas County Court his defense attorneys asked for a complete mental evaluation. Meiser has yet been charged in the Kelso case but has been for the Lake Oswego murder of Hayes with a machete, along with the slashing of a Utah man. If convicted for Hayes murder, Meiser would face the death penalty.
