The Ducks are coming off a huge win versus the UCLA Bruins and have a week to prepare for a Nationally televised showdown in Palo Alto versus the number-five Bruins next Thursday night. Oregon senior wide receiver Josh Huff joined Chad on Flight 750 Wednesday to talk about the matchup and to talk about his play so far this season.Huff insists that he was not happy with his play early in the season but says it has really improved recently.
“Last time I spoke with you, I didn’t play as well as I wanted to. These last two weeks I just put in the preparation to better myself and better my team. I want to be known as one of the best receivers in the nation and I have to make sure I just keep putting in the work to do that.”
Huff also said that he just loves being around the group of young men that he’s around every day.
“Being able to be alongside these guys full strength and battling with these guys each and every day in practice and go out on game day and strap it up with those guys, it’s a pleasure. It’s a great thing to be around these guys and get better with these guys.”
And finally, he says that it’s no shock to him to see the Ducks' defense playing so well. He has been going up against it since camp.
“I’m not surprised by the way they’re playing because I’ve been seeing this from them since fall camp – Just flying around the ball…It’s just a whirlwind when you’re an offensive player and you see the defensive player close gaps so quickly, run to the ball with no lanes for you to cutback, it’s demoralizing. Any team that goes against our defense, I feel sorry for them.”
The Ducks are off this week but be sure to listen to the great interview and get ready for a top-five showdown next Thursday right here on 750thegame.
