It’s a pretty big week in the NFL this weekend – particularly in Denver, where Mike Shanahan makes his big return to the Mile High City to face off against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. One of Shanahan’s former players, Terrell Davis, joined guest host Bernard Bokenyi on Friday to preview the matchup and to discuss the mess taking place in Tampa Bay with Greg Schiano and the Bucs.Davis said that he thinks the Bucs players have had enough of Greg Schiano and have quit on him.
“I think guys are just sort of quitting, let’s be honest about it. I don’t think guys are putting in the effort, the time; they’re just going and collecting paychecks. They’re doing their jobs because they have to – They’re professionals – But I don’t get the sense that this team is fighting for their head coach or fighting to save the season.”
Davis also says that, it’s probably time to head in a new direction down in Tampa Bay.
“I don’t think this is going to be a situation where they can turn things around – Not with Greg Schiano at the helm. I think it would be a great time to make a coaching change to be honest with you.”
Davis also talked about his former Coach, Mike Shanahan, and his return to Denver. Davis says that there is no one who wants a win more than his former coach.
“He’s a competitor, so he wants to win this game bad. Not only to obviously get their season turned around, but he’s going back to a place where he’s worshipped. He’s the Vince Lombardi of Denver. He brought us two championships and he’s going back to the place where it all happened and so he wants to go back there and win that game more than anybody.”
Take a listen to the great interview and be sure tune into 750thegame Sunday afternoon to hear the Broncos take on the Redskins.
