Marv and Rindy Ross, perhaps better known as Quarterflash joined Chad on the MSP back in June and Wednesday they dropped by the studio to join him on Flight 750 to talk about their upcoming benefit shows at the Aladdin Theater.

The Ross’s have been putting on benefit concerts for Portland area youth for nearly two decades and this year is no different.  They have partnered with a group called: friendsofthechildren.org to help at risk children by giving them mentors to help them from their grade school years until they have completed high school.

“From the very beginning we’ve been thrilled to be a part of their efforts and so every year we do this really wacky, fun, Christmas show at the Aladdin and it’s one of those shows that has caught on and now we’re doing five shows in a row and all the proceeds go to friends of the children.”

Friends of the Children provides vulnerable children with intensive and long-term mentors and they take a preventative, early intervention and helps children in need overcome many of the obstacles in their life.

“What makes Friends of the Children unique is that these are paid mentors that make a commitment to be with these kids throughout their entire school experience and so there is a consistency there that is so often lacking and it makes the total difference.

Quarterflash will be putting on their benefit concerts December 7-9 at the Aladdin Theater.  More information is available friendsofthechildren.com

Take a listen to the interview, and if you can, try to keep December 7th, 8th or 9th open for a great show that is going to help a great cause.
