Officer Involved Shooting In Salem

A Salem woman called police last night after he despondent boyfriend grabbed a gun and threatened to kill himself. Officers found the 26 year old outside the home on Scenic View Drive. They asked him repeatedly to put down his weapon but he did not.  Lt. Dave Okada says  it appears only Corporal Ryan Demmer fired his gun. He is on administrative leave while the shooting is being investigated, which is standard procedure. The man's named has not been released yet.
