It's official; this is no longer a Cinderella story. Whatever magic Mike Riley is using these Beavers haven't turned into Princes, they have turned into Tanks. Back-up quarterback Cody Vaz called into the Bald Faced Truth today to discuss his first game as Quarterback.
Quarterback Sean Mannion was injured this weekend, but OSU didn't blink. Cody Vaz stepped up in style, leading the Beaver's to a 42-24 victory against BYU. However, even after being named Pac-12 offensive player of the week, Cody knows he can improve.
"There is always definitely room for improvement. Especially after watching the game film yesterday. There were some throws that I missed, I should have hit. You should never be complacent as a quarterback; there is always room to get better."
A quarterback always needs to put the performance of his team over his own, and Cody knows that more than anyone.
"I just wanted to go down there and get a win. I could care less if I threw zero touchdowns or three, it didn't matter to me. I just wanted to go down there and get a win."
Cody and John continue to discuss this past weekend’s game, and John breaks the news of Cody's Pac-12 Offensive Player nomination to the man himself. Listen to the interview below:
