Police Close Park Blocks To Occupiers
December 3, 2011, 9:28 pm
Occupy Portland protesters are booted out of the South Park blocks just before 9pm Saturday. Nearly 20 tents were set up after a march through downtown streets blocked traffic and the MAX for a short time. Since the group did not get a march permit, there was no police escort. Mayor Sam Adams and the Portland Police told protesters not to set up camp in the park, but protesters defied the orders. After police were confronted and then forced out of the South Park block, the decision was made to close the park and clear out the occupiers.
