Parker exclaims that he was very impressed with Sean Mannion’s performance Saturday – specifically the poise he showed in that fourth quarter comeback.
“Mannion’s poise to lead not just one but two fourth quarter drives for the lead was really impressive.”
Parker also insists that one of the biggest reasons for the Beavers turnaround this season is the running game. It has opened up the passing game for Mannion and his receivers. But more importantly, it has enabled them to control the clock and allowed them to give teams a dose of speed and power between their running backs.
Lastly, says that he doesn’t expect the Beavers to lay an egg on Saturday because Washington State was the same team that came into Reser Stadium two years ago and embarrassed the Beavers. That game kind of signaled the beginning of the downward spiral the program had been headed the past year and half. He expects a great effort from Mike Leach and his Cougs, but he thinks the Beavers are going to continue to play the same tough defense that they have been playing through the first three games.
Take a listen to the interview and be sure to watch the Beavers take on the Cougars Saturday at 3:00 pm.
