THE LARS LARSON SHOW
HEARD ON LARS LARSON
Community Activist vs. Successful Businessman. The Choice Is Yours
I know it’s hard to keep track
of all the broken promises of President Barack Obama. But I think this is a big one. As a candidate, Obama promised to cut the
federal deficit in half.
Right now, the
government borrows about 40 percent of the money it spends. Taxes make up the rest. The President produced a budget but it doesn't cut spending and every member of his own party voted against it.
Last year, the government spent $1.22 billion
dollars more than it took in. This year,
the deficit actually increased by $47 billion dollars to $1.23 billion and
change. That means the total debt of the
average American household stands at just under $137,000. That would just about wipe out the equity the
average family has left over in its home, after government policies cratered
the economy four years ago.
To put it in personal terms, the federal debt of
the average family increased by $10,855. That’s up from the $10,454 it
jumped last year. Should we send the
college professor community activist back to Chicago and hire a successful
businessman to replace him?
