From the Rose Garden, the Blazers held their annual media day. Jason Quick, Jay Allen, and Ben Golliver join the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about how the new Blazers look and what they expect to do this season.
Blazers beat writer for The Oregonian Jason Quick comes on and talks about why he is surprised that the Blazers have set such lofty goals for themselves. Jason discusses the glimmers of hope he sees on the roster. He explains why the Blazers' lack of a bench will hurt them. Jason predicts what kind of player Meyers Leonard will develop into. He also talks about how happy LaMarcus Aldridge will be this season playing on such a terrible team.
Ben Golliver, writer for Blazers Edge and CBS Sports, joins John to
break down the Blazers roster. Ben pushes back on the claim that Meyers Leonard is
a “big, goofy white guy” and explains why he will be a decent big man.
Ben gives his thoughts on Damian Lillard and why he think Damian can
handle the pressure of being a rookie starting point guard. Ben then
explains why the Blazer will ultimately have a mediocre season. He also discusses how long the Blazers can hold
on to LaMarcus Aldridge before he bolts for a better team.
Jay Allen of 750 the Game reveals why the Blazers are optimistic about this season, even hoping to reach the playoffs. Jay talks about why Lillard could be the point guard of the future for the Blazers. He explains why he believes Damian Lillard is ready to lead the Blazers on the court. He also describes the confidence that seems to exude from the rookies. Jay then brings up some highlights from past media days.
