Richard Mullaney is coming off the best game of his young career at Oregon State, catching seven passes for 142 yards and a TD in the overtime victory over Utah. He joined Chad on Flight 750 Wednesday to talk about his great performance.
“First he had a different play called and at the last second he switched it. So we all just kind of looked at each other and we were like ‘Wow, he really just called that’ and we were all very excited for it.”
Mullaney also talked about Sean Mannion’s great play through the first three weeks of the season.
“He’s the leader of this football team and if he goes, we go. Obviously he’s going to put all the blame on his shoulders but we don’t look at it that way. It’s a team effort. But it’s great to have a leader like him.”
And finally he talked about the thoughts running through his mind when he saw running back Storm Woods laying on the turf with an injury.
“On the field when we saw him get hurt, obviously there was a ton of emotions on the sidelines. We just got everyone together and we all looked at each other and we just knew we had to get it for him. We knew if he was on the field he would give us his all. So we knew that we just had to put everything we’ve got on the field and get that W for him.”
