We have decided to commit
ourselves to live and local programming at FM News 101. We want to be a voice
and a sounding board for Portland, for Oregon, and the Northwest, just like we
are with Lars.
Glenn Beck was not a big
performer in the ratings.
He was on tape delay. That means when he was anticipating a speech by the
President or a Supreme Court Ruling, it had already happened and we were
covering it in news. If we had breaking news like a mass shooting,
a tornado, or any other big event, he would not be talking about
it. This was a problem for a station that wants to be your immediate
source for information.
In Jim Villanucci, we think
we have found a combination of a conservative approach to topics with some
humor and irreverence. For those of you who are ready to hang it
up, please give Jim some time to find his way in this new market.
Give it a couple of weeks and see what you think. Remember, you'd
probably not like to be judged by your coworkers on your first day of a new
job.
Thanks for your patience and your support. We are trying to make our station full service and reliable and immediate. We hope you give us the opportunity to do that.
