Tom Welter on the OSAA
October 29, 2013, 2:16 pm
OSAA Executive Director Tom Welter joined host John Canzano Tuesday afternoon on The Bald Faced Truth to explain classifications and talk about the OSAA.
Welter explained the OSAA and how it works. "We're an association of schools and the decisions that were just made were made by the elected representatives of our schools not by our
staff. They hear the input and the one thing we know going into every
classification process is we won't make everybody happy. There is a give
and take process. Some leagues have to change."
The OSAA wants to have bigger leagues and adjustments have to be made. "In an attempt to have bigger leagues, what we have to do is, obviously we can't create schools so we have to take schools that are at the 6A classification level and in this case we had to adjust some things so we could add schools."
