PORTLAND -- It was a violent Halloween night in the city with shootings and a stabbing that police say are not connected. A woman was murdered, two people were shot and two others stabbed all within a few hours.
Officers responded to shots fired at Southeast 124th and Powell Court and found the body of 24-year-old Precious Jackson outside the Laurel Place Apartments. She was shot at close range by a man that friends and neighbors say she knew. Her best friend says she was involved with another woman and that angered her ex.
Cops chased a car leaving the complex and it crashed. Four black men took off and the neighborhood was locked down. The car was dumped near Gilbert Heights Park, but a four-hour search failed to turn up anything else. Police ask you to call 9-1-1 if you find clothing in that area, specifically jackets and hoodies.
Meanwhile, police responded to a reported drive-by shooting at I-205 and Division, but they didn't find anyone there. Police believe it's gang related. A victim showed up at Legacy Emanuel hospital just before 3:00am. 23-year-old Jeray Jessie is a known gang associate and he has not been forthcoming with detectives. It's believed he may have been shot in the drive-by.
Another person walked into Portland Adventist with a self-inflicted gunshot wound a half hour later.
Meanwhile, a Halloween party in North Portland ended in real blood. A man in his 20's who was an unwelcome guest went on a rampage and stabbed two women inside a home on Lombard and Wall. They're expected to be okay.
