A shooting by the Waterfront injured three late Saturday evening near Southwest Naito Parkway and Salmon Street, and authorities said its gang-related.
Police arrived shortly after 11 p.m. to find a large crowd with known gang affiliations waiting to board the Portland Spirit for a private party. The suspects approached a line of people and there was a confrontation between the victims and suspects prior to shots being fired.
The injured men are 26-year-old Leonard Brightmon, 22-year-old Xavier Bolden, and 22-year old Ronnie Smith. Brightmon and Bolden are in serious, but stable condition. Smith is in critical condition, but expected to survive.
Following the shooting witnesses say the three suspects ran west
into the heart of Downtown. Police are describing them as African
American males in their late teens or early 20s with a medium build and
wearing all white.
No arrests have been made.
