Two boys found this homemade wooden raft along the bank of the Columbia River on Sunday and decided to take it for a ride. They learned the hard way that it's no match for the fast-moving river and quickly needed help.
They were seen near the Interstate Bridge. By the time rescuers arrived, the raft was stuck in pilings about a half-mile downstream
The boys were not prepared for the worst. They had no life jackets or oars to steer the raft.
