TriMet Bus Driver Cited For Crash

The bus collides into the metal supports

Reports are that a Tri-Met bus driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel after beginning their shift, causing the bus to crash into a WES Commuter Rail crossing in Beaverton this morning.
The impact knocked over the crossing arm onto Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway at Lombard. The eastbound lanes were closed for several hours.
The bus was not in service and the driver was the only person on board. They were not injured. The driver was cited for being careless.
