Tom Green has been entertaining audiences for years with his performances in movies like: Road Trip, Freddy Got Fingered and Charlie’s Angels as well as his self titled TV show on MTV.  He is now taking his talents to the premium cable circuit with a stand-up comedy special airing on Showtime later this month.  He joined Chad Wednesday on The Morning Sports Page to talk about the show and discuss some of the work that made him famous in his early years.

Although he is most well-known for his comedy, Green is also an accomplished rapper.  In the early 90s, he was a part of the group “Organized Crime” and the single “Check the O.R.” actually won “MuchVibe’s” best rap video in 1992.

After taking a break for a few years, Green got back into the rap game in 2005 in both solo efforts as well as a part of the “Keeping it Real Crew.”

When he’s not rapping and entertaining, Green likes to pay tribute to the troops.  He has visited troops in Kosovo and the Persian Gulf during times of war.  He grew up in a military family with his dad being a captain in the Canadian army, so he likes to pay homage to the troops whenever he can because he knows what it’s like to have family members go out on tours for months at a time.  He says also enjoys his time with the troops because they make the best audiences.

Take a listen as Green discusses his inspirations for comedy and be sure to check out his Comedy show on Showtime that premiers August 10.  If you happen to miss that airing, the show will re-air throughout September.
