A Salem-area couple were killed in a motorcycle-involved traffic crash Saturday afternoon east of Sweet Home. Oregon State Police responded to the crash on Hwy. 20. At about 3:14 p.m., a 2008 Harley Davidson, operated by 61-year-old Edmund Alexander Cote was westbound on the highway, near milepost 35, and the motorcycle traveeled off the right side of the highway and hit the guardrail. Passenger Joan Root Cote, 58, was thrown from the motorcycle and over an embankment. She was pronoucned dead at the scene. Edmund Cote was taken by LifeFlight to a Bend hospital when he died.
