Spa Abruptly Goes out of Business

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Tens of thousands of customers of Forever Young Laser Medical Spa are out lots of money after the business abruptly closed its doors and moved out.
The business shut down on Wednesday after years of complaints. They apparently moved out overnight and didn't show up Thursday morning to address their ripped off customers, who were understandably angry.
Some only learned about the closure when they showed up for their cosmetic treatments, but instead found employees moving out furniture.
"I really felt they owed me my money back because of their faulty equipment, lack of services, and results. I got zero results from the $2,000 I gave them. It's out of my pocket for nothing," says Ronnie Davis.
A manager says bad publicity brought the company down. The Department of Justice has received nearly 70 complaints about Forever Young since 2009 and an investigation was launched earlier this year.
"Customers can and should demand their money back, or at least some of it from Forever Young. They can also file complaints at our website," DOJ spokesman Jeff Manning told KGW.
The company has promised to refund all their customers, but that remains to be seen. They applied for a new business license last month under a different name in Prineville. Officials say it's best to research any company before signing a contract.
An attorney handed over their client database to Tan Republic, who has agreed to serve customers with tanning-only packages.
