Neighbors rushed to help rescue a man from a burning house this morning. The residence on Jolie Point Road next to the West Linn Lutheran Church is used for transitional housing. The man who lives there looks after the grounds.
Two neighbors brought the elderly resident out through the front door. There were no injuries. His dog got outside safely too.
The cause appears to be electrical. It started on the back deck and caused significant damage.
Meanwhile, around the same time, crews were battling a trailer fire in Milwaukie. The trailer was fully engulfed in a driveway at Southeast 22nd and Park. It nearly spread to a neighboring home. A cat was treated for burns. The damage is around $10,000.
