Clackamas Deputies Looking for Suspect In an Elude

Deputies in Clackamas County are looking for a suspect who took off when police tried to stop him. Just after 6:30 on Sunday morning a sheriff's deputy saw a Kia Sorrento drive erratically on Hwy. 213 near S. Eldorado Rd. He tried to stop the car ... and the suspect took off. At one time, the driver put the car in reverse in an apparent attempt to ram the deputy. Eventually the suspect crashed his car down a 40-foot embankment. They were not able to find the suspect, even after a K-9 search of the area. The car had license plates that were stolen off another Kia in Salem. The suspect is described as an adult male with a stocky build. Evidence suggests there was a passenger in the car as well. Call police if you have any information.
