Obama's Cash Grab and Dash Tour Hits Stumptown
President Obey-me makes a quick cash stop in Oregon,
treating the state like a campaign ATM.
This is a state that was a big winner for the candidate four years
ago. But recent polls show he’s lost
support here, and no wonder. The state still has one of the highest
unemployment rates in the country and its economy suffers under the crazy new
rules the administration has championed.
Organized labor, one of the President’s biggest allys, has pulled some
crazy stunts like shutting down the Port of Portland and even taking hostages
and dumping cargo at the Port of Longview.
The President’s energy policies helped shut down the Boardman coal plant
decades before it would have worn out and as he promised, electric prices are
headed up sharply.
The last time the
President was here, a rock concert in Waterfront Park helped swell the crowd
before his speech, just as it did in Germany. But his rock star status among young people and hip independents has
suffered from a series of missteps in public.
Best to just grab the cash since your campaign ran in deficit last month
and get in and out of stump town as fast as you can.
