Mike Jorgensen has been an Oregon Sports analyst for the Ducks since 1989.  He joined Chad Thursday on The Morning Sports Page to share his thoughts on the 2012 team and his predictions for the upcoming college football season.

Jorgy began by saying he will be appearing in some of the Pac-12 Network’s re-telecasts of some of the greatest games ever played in the Pac-10.  One of the games that will be featured is the November, 2009 double overtime game between Oregon and Arizona down in Tucson.  Jorgensen enjoyed giving his perspective on such a big game.  He insisted that the game marked a tale of two programs.  Since that game, the Ducks have gone on to play in three BCS Bowl games with a Rose Bowl victory this past season.  In contrast, the Wildcats have had two bowl losses and last year, they limped to a five and seven season and fired their coach.

Jorgensen also went into detail about the strength of this year’s Duck team.  As unnatural as it may seem, Jorgy believes the biggest strength of the team is the defense.  He insists that the defense is full of playmakers and it is as deep as he has ever seen it.  His belief is that the level of depth that the Ducks have is a luxury they’ve never had before.  Not only does it give you options if injuries occur, but it makes players compete harder.

Take a listen to Jorgy’s interview with Chad and make sure to check out his expert analysis on OSN.
