Put Out A Fire By Your Property. Get Arrested?

What would you do if you there was a fire burning near your property? Would you put it out? Would you let it burn?

Well a southern Oregon man was told that if he put out a fire burning near his property, that he would be arrested for doing so.

This small fire was part of what became the Frenchglen fire that is burning in southern Oregon. Governor Kitzhaber has now declared a state of emergency in southern Oregon due to fires like this. 

The real travesty here, is that this fire was preventable. I was joined by John Witzel, the man who was told not to put out the fire, today on the show.
