13-Year-Old Injured After Being Hit In Crosswalk

A 13-year-old boy is in the Intensive Care Unit today after being hit in a crosswalk Saturday night. The boy was walking across Proctor Boulevard in Sandy when a 24-year-old driver from New York state attempted to pass another vehicle that had stopped for the boy to cross. His truck hit the boy causing serious injuries. He was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center ICU unit. The truck's driver was cited for failing to yield to a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk. No names were released.
