Major Drug Raid In Old Town Building

A federal drug trafficking investigation resulted in a pre-dawn raid at a former Chinese temple in Old Town.  Seven people were arrested for various crimes.  Some may face federal charges.  The bust involved tenants renting rooms in the Hip Sing Association building near Northwest 3rd and Davis who were selling or using meth.

Police recovered over two ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, multiple weapons, body armor, surveillance equipment and many stolen items including computers and dozens of bicycles.  Investigators are working to reunite the stolen property with its owners.

Police fear that drug dealers are preying on addicts who are looking for recovery services in the area.
