Woman Creates Alternative to Craigslist

Meagan Shamy is a Gresham mom who bought and sold a lot of her kid's old stuff on Craigslist.  But she always felt a little uncomfortable using the website, worrying about scammers and meeting strangers in parking lots.  Shamy started a facebook group called Gresham Sell and Swap as an alternative.  Users must be approved before joining, and she says it gives moms peace of mind knowing that a buyer has a mutual friend or knows your neighbor.  Shamy says even though you don't know the person, there are connections and you don't feel uncomfortable giving them your name or address.  Shamy says she's even made a few friends on the page.  She started it back in January and it already has 250 members.
