Highway Worker Run Down and Killed in Canby

July 11, 2012, 7:30 am

A 48-year-old man who was placing construction warning signs along New Era and Haines Roads was hit as he crossed the street last night at about 7:40. The driver, Bruce Dancer of Lake Oswego, was arrested for driving under the influence after he called police to report the crash.

Detectives are now searching for any other witnesses. The name of the victim has not been released. He was flown to Emanuel Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was an employee of Knife River.
