2 Drown Taking Pictures Near Falls

A high school student and camp counselor from River Rock Church in Southwest Washington died Monday after falling into the White River Falls, south of the Dalles. The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office says Caleb Justice and Brett McClain tried to walk behind the falls to take a picture when they slipped into the pool below. Witnesses tried to rescue them, but weren't able to get to them before they disappeared into the water. Their bodies have not been recovered. White River Day Use area is about four miles east of Tygh
