Dan Mitchinson

"Some people tell stories, I like connecting with them."

Dan Mitchinson anchors and co-hosts "Portland's Afternoon News" weekdays from 4-7. When he's not on the radio, Dan's likely hanging out at a local gym ("I take working out very seriously. Maybe it's a mid-life crisis thing, but it's less expensive than buying a sports car and it's given me a whole new outlook on life") or planning his next travel adventure, "I'm a bit of a vagabond. I love exploring new countries and meeting people from other cultures, “ says Mitchinson. “ A few years back, I took an entire year off to travel around the world, and it was the best experience of my life."

Before he called Portland home, Mitchinson anchored radio and TV newscasts from San Diego, to Seattle.  His stories have been heard across the country and around the world on Fox and CBS news. He's also won a Golden Mic award for television reporting, and been honored with and Edward R. Murrow Award for best radio newscast.
