Temperatures are expected to be in the 90's this weekend and stay warm well into next week. The National Weather Service is calling for temps in the mid-80's through at least Thursday. That makes for very crowded water ways in our area. The Multnomah County River Patrol will be out in full force, and so will AMR lifeguards at High Rocks Park along the Clackamas River and at Glenn Otto Park along the Sandy. One lifeguard says the water is very cold, despite the hot air temperature. He also says if you get caught in the current, don't fight it, just relax. Once the current eases up you can get out of the water. There is also a life jacket loaner program at Glenn Otto. There have been no drownings at the park since lifeguards began patrolling.
