A man called in an explosive device near the Oregon State Capitol in Salem this afternoon, prompting police to shut down streets on the north side of the building to investigate.
Authorities did not find an explosive or anything suspicious and streets were re-opened within 90 minutes. Business at the capitol was not interrupted as police did not evacuate the building.
Investigators are looking into who phoned in the threat and why. Tipsters asked to call (503) 986-1122.
