The two week old slowdown at the Port of Portland's Terminal Six will soon be in the hands of a federal judge. The National Labor Relations Board which has already filed an unfair labor practices charge against the longshoremen's union will be in US District Court Friday afternoon at 1:30 asking Judge Michael Simon to slap the union with a temporary restraining order ending a slowdown that has backed up cargo across the region. The union which is trying to wrest away two jobs from the electrical workers union is asking the same judge to order the port operator to assign those jobs to the longshoremen. In the past week two container ships have canceled plans to off load cargo in Portland.| Add your comments below | |
