Portlander Kurt Happala got his bike stolen over the weekend while vacationing in Sunriver.  He admits he didn't have the bike locked up but says he was still very surprised.  He's been vacationing in the central Oregon town for six years and never thought something like that would happen.  Fortunately, Happala got his bike back, but five other bikes that were stolen are still missing.  Sunriver Police Sergeant Joe Patnode says the thefts happened in the south end of the Sunriver area.  He says all five of those bikes were locked up.  Some were even locked to a roof rack on top of an SUV.  He says all the bikes were very expensive, one was even custom made and worth about $3,000.  Patnode's advice is to move all valuables and equipment inside a garage or even inside your hotel roof if you have to.  He says "If they can't see it, they can't steal it."  Patnode is looking for tips from the public in this case, but thinks the thieves have probably split town.  He says they knew exactly what they were looking for and were targeting very specific bikes.
