On Thursday, the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners will receive a report outlining the financial costs of a building a new county courthouse in downtown Portland.  The report also outlines the option of remodeling the current building, while keeping operations going.  Commissioner Deborah Kafoury says an option that isn't on the table is moving operations while remodeling the current building.  She says that is not cost effective.
The report even looks at building a new courthouse in a different part of town, including the Pearl or the Inner East Side.  Kafoury says the easy decision will be choosing which option is best for the county, it's the funding part that will be difficult.  She says that piece of the process is a long ways off.  She adds that in either part of the plan, she wants input from the public.
You can look at the report here.
